E-Book is short for Electronic Book.
E-Books, particularly non-fiction, "how-to" oriented books and
booklets like those
that are commonly found in the coaching profession have numerous advantages
over
printed books.
Bill
Gates first wrote about the impact that internet technologies would
have on the distribution of information in his 1996 book The Road Ahead.
He called it "friction-free" capitalism, and cited the publishing industry
as one where the current "business model" was inefficient and "full of
friction".
We recognize that many times printed books are a superior form of
presentation and distribution of material. But we also know that
the traditional publishing business is a difficult "nut to crack" for
new authors. Furthermore, self-publishing booklets that cover a specific
topic in-depth is often cost-prohibitive.
Through our software and eBook distribution site - the CompuSports Media Exchange, we have made a large commitment
to deliver the low-cost information publishing and distribution services
that Gates talked about to the coaching community.
The
CompuSports Media
Exchange is the web's
first multi-vendor, multi-sport "e-content" distribution site.
Dedicated to distributing coaching eBooks and software, the CompuSports Media Exchange
offers a "see it,
learn about it, buy it, and have it" customer experience for coaches of all
sports. Its an ideal place to find the shorter "How-to" books on a
specific topic - the type that are simply not available through
traditional channels.
The CompuSports Media Exchange also creates exciting
new opportunities for existing and aspiring Authors and Publishers of coaching
books and videos to publish and distribute eBooks. Our complete system for
packaging, distributing and handle all aspects of transactions enables
authors to concentrate on writing while we handle the rest.
